ICYMI: Michigan Families For Fair Care Talk Tax Fairness With WCPT 820

On Friday, Michigan Families for Fair Care Executive Director Steve Lawson sat down with Richard Chew from WCPT 820 to talk about the issues facing everydayMichiganders. With parts of the 2017 GOP Tax Law expiring next year, Lawson spoke with Chew about the upcoming fight for tax fairness on behalf of lower-income Michiganders who just want to see the wealthy pay their fair share.

This interview underscores the importance of Americans getting a fair deal after the 2017 GOP Tax Law provisions, which mainly benefited the ultra-wealthy, expire in 2025. Check out an excerpt here:

STEVE LAWSON: “What we are really for in the broad strokes is we want to see wealthy people and corporations pay their fair share. We feel like what we've seen with this new tax law is less and less of the tax burden of wealthy and the corporations being asked to pay less and less and middle class people being asked to shoulder more of the burden.” [1:22:12]
