Michigan Business Owners Condemn President Trump’s Decision To Raise Costs
Michigan Families for Fair Care storytellers, Michael Howard III and Alex Bronson issued the following statements in response to President Trump’s decision to raise costs for Michiganders:
Macomb County Commissioner Michael Howard III
“The Trump administration has failed to listen to the working class people of Michigan, and now small business owners are going to pay the price. These tariffs do not benefit consumers, and only work to make life more expensive for the working class. This administration and our Congressman John James do not care to lower prices, they are trying to afford the biggest tax cuts for billionaires our generation has ever seen. They are robbing us, and then telling us it is our fault for not getting ahead. Shameful.”
Mount Clemens Business Owner and Carpenter, Alex Bronson
“As a small business owner, these tariffs mean higher prices for my customers, and I truly wish that wasn’t the case, but I have to keep my business afloat. When our suppliers don’t provide us with better options, somewhere the system has failed. That is what is happening now with these tariffs. They are failing Michigan businesses, without any meaningful change in sight.”
